Like our sister company, Hobsons Brewery, we are dedicated to producing the finest quality local cider using the best ingredients.
Our splendid ciders are made entirely from freshly pressed apples picked from orchards in and around Geoff Thompson's farm at Oldfields in the Teme Valley near Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire. Geoff, who has also been supplying hops to Hobsons for around 20 years, works closely with the brewers to make ciders which are clean, bright, and full of fresh apple flavour.
This limited edition cider is made with Discovery apples, a dessert variety, and is light, crisp, refreshing and packed full of Discovery apple flavour. As it is made at Oldfields, tastes of apple and is dry (or secco) in style Oldfields have called it Applesecco.
Oldfields medium dry cider combines natural freshly cut apple flavour with gentle tannins from the skins and pips giving a wonderfully tingly mouthfeel. Very quaffable, it is a great accompaniment to spicy food.
Oldfields award-winning medium sweet cider is packed full of natural apple flavour and fruity sweetness. When Oldfields say 'sweet' they mean sweet-ish because it's well balanced and not too sugary or syrupy. Balance is important too, it has gentle acidity and a little tannin from the apple pips and skins.
Oldfields original cider is based on the original recipe of the Oldfields draught cider, in fact it's even from the same tank! Bottled cider is never quite the same as in keg but Oldfields think this comes pretty close.
Crumpton Hill Farm Shop opened in October 2014. Before being the farm shop it is today, the shop started life as a farm shop selling the fruit which was grown on site. The farm then became a cider farm and the shop became well known for selling Knights Cider, both Malvern Gold and Malvern Oak. As well as selling the bottled cider, the shop also sold draught cider straight from the large vats in the wall. The shop closed in June 2014 as the manager retired. As locals in Storridge for over 20 years, we felt there was a need in the village for a farm shop specialising in local and fresh fruit and vegetables. As well as the fruit and vegetables, condiments, jams, meats, milk, cheese, bread and cakes, we also have a large range of local ciders, perrys, beers and wines. As the shop is set in the beautiful apple orchards of the farm, we are looking to expand into selling teas, coffees and freshly made cakes for our customers. As well as the tea room, we also have many plans for the shop including expanding the cider, beer and wine range so it’s the best in the area.
